Through their cooperative, the families brought to life a bakery project called &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/mesopotamia.coop\/coops\/life-bakery-cooperative\/\">Life Bakery Cooperative<\/a>&#8216;. The bakery will serve many families in the canton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The bakery officially opened on Monday, 4 August, with a ceremony attended by co-chairs of the Cooperatives and Raqqa Economy Committees as well as local residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The bakery will operate daily from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and 8.2 tons of flour have been allocated for its use. It will produce 8,750 loaves of bread per day, which will be distributed to all neighborhoods in the canton and to areas where displaced people from <a href=\"https:\/\/mesopotamia.coop\/cities\/afrin\/\">Afrin<\/a> live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The opening ceremony began with a moment of silence, as the news agency ANHA reported. The co-chair of the Cooperatives Committee, Ebdulxef\u00fbr Rom\u00ee, welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of the cooperative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rom\u00ee said: &#8220;The Life Bread Cooperative is the fourth bakery cooperative to be established. Similar cooperatives were previously launched on 23 February in <a href=\"https:\/\/mesopotamia.coop\/coops\/ferdos-bakery-cooperative\/\">Ferdos<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/mesopotamia.coop\/coops\/selhebi-bakery-cooperative\/\">Selhebi<\/a>. These bakery cooperatives produce a total of 25,400 loaves of bread daily, which reach thousands of families through designated representatives.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He added that about 90 families are currently employed in bakery cooperatives. Rom\u00ee also noted that the Cooperatives Committee is active not only in baking but also in agriculture, livestock, and small trades. They also provide support in seasonal production, olive production, and poultry farm management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rom\u00ee added that the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/mesopotamia.coop\/coops\/xeyrat-cizre-mills-cooperative\/\">Xeyrat Cizre Mills Cooperative<\/a>\u201d, which produces 30 tons of flour daily, is also operational.
